What to Wear When Running
Choosing the right running gear is essential for a comfortable and effective workout. Your running clothing should allow for ample freedom of movement, regulate your body temperature and wick away sweat to keep you dry and comfortable if running for a longer period of time. In warmer weather, opt for lightweight fabrics that allow for maximum airflow. Breathable materials like polyester are ideal as they pull moisture away from your skin. Try to avoid cotton when it comes to tops and bottoms, as cotton tends to absorb more sweat into itself and can become heavy as a result. Additionally, consider the terrain you'll be running on. Love running on forest trails or countryside pathways? You may want to wear longer shorts or leggings to protect your legs from plant scratches. If you're running outside in the dark, reflective items and accessories are a must. When running in a race or marathon, you may also want to wear a race belt or wear a running vest to hold your essentials.
What to Wear When Running in Winter
When running in winter, layering is key to staying warm and dry in the colder weather. Start with a moisture-wicking base layer to keep sweat off your skin. Add an insulating mid-layer, such as a fleece or lightweight jacket, for warmth. Finish with a windproof and water-resistant outer layer to protect you from the elements. Don't forget accessories like gloves, scarves, a hat, and warm socks to keep extremities cosy and comfortable.
