Our People

Our People

We’re on a mission to empower all women through fitness and beyond. And it starts with how we treat our people. We care about our teams, our community, our planet. And we stand up for what we believe in. This means doing more and working harder to make the long-lasting changes needed to become an inclusive, diverse and actively anti-racist company. Here’s how we’re doing it...

Our DEI Mission

Our Commitment To An Inclusive Workspace

Our DEI Mission

At Sweaty Betty our mission is to embed diversity, equity and inclusion at the heart of our business. To create a culture of belonging that empowers everyone to be their BEST authentic self. We commit to celebrating different perspectives and to continuously learn, develop and challenge ourselves and our partners.

Our Conversations

Within Sweaty Betty we have Diversity and Inclusion Collective and DEI Committee. They’re central to making sure conversations around diversity, inclusion and equity translate to meaningful change ensuring we are making a difference and encouraging engagement from across the business.

Guidelines

We’re working together on our Diversity and Inclusion Roadmap, holding ourselves accountable for building an inclusive work environment. We’ve also created clear guidelines, including our Modern Slavery Statement and Code of Conduct. These sit alongside our company values to direct our behaviour as a business, both internally and with our whole supply chain.

Internal Education

We lead, we fail, we learn and we go again. Our commitment to doing things differently means we’re always learning. And so are our teams. All of our teams have the opportunity to attend training, read articles, listen to podcasts and get involved with discussion on key DEI topics to allow us to learn together and on their own.

Empowering Our Community

Empowering Our Community

We know that our strength is in each other. That’s why we’re committed to empowering our people both internally and throughout our supply chain.

Female Leadership

Female founded. Female led. We know the incredible things women achieve when they back each other. Today, women make up 89% of our employees and 75% of our senior leadership team. And we’re dedicated to creating an environment where everyone is inspired to grow and lead.

Supporting Grass Roots Talent

We’re committed to providing equal opportunities and building a diverse global team. We pro-actively advertise roles to reach a wider talent pool, tracking our application demographics to ensure we’re attracting a variety of candidates. We’ve also built relationships with local colleges to seek new and diverse talent for our apprentice scheme.

Equal Pay

We believe in equal pay for men and women. Period. We regularly report on our Gender Pay. And we only work with factories who provide fair wages, reasonable hours, a safe working environment, and no forced or child labour.

Giving Back

Giving Back

Our community is everything. And we want to give back to it. For us, this means building the world we want to see.

Partnerships

Partnerships

We support organisations who share our values and mission to create positive change.

Firstly, Inclusive Consultancy. A Company headed up by two strong females, taking on the task to teach, train and transform businesses on how to run companies that recognise the importance of representing an accurate reflection of the society and communities in which we live and work. They will provide Team SB with tailored foundational training on DEI and create a safe and engaging space to talk about DEI.

Our second partner is Diversity in Retail. They believe that through collaboration we can amplify the impact of individual diversity initiatives. That together we can have a bigger, louder voice for the good of the Retail sector. Their mission is to support companies across the retail industry to create diverse and inclusive environments and positively impact 1 million employees globally by 2025.

The Sweaty Betty Foundation

The Sweaty Betty Foundation

We know how good moving makes us feel. But globally, only 15% of teenage girls are doing enough physical activity. Supporting girls at school, home and in their communities, The Sweaty Betty Foundation is empowering girls to get moving. We’re focusing on those who face the biggest barriers to being active, particularly those from lower income families and ethnically diverse communities.

Going Forward...

We’re on a journey. And we’re not there yet. But we want to be a part of the solution, not the problem. We’re committed to working across our business to be allies, inclusive, and leaders in doing things differently. Watch this space.
